The vector product and the scalar triple product questions

The vector product of two vectors is a third vector perpendicular to both, whose magnitude is the area of the parallelogram they span. Taking the scalar product of that with a third vector gives the volume of the parallelepiped, which turns several geometry problems into a single calculation.
